Outings & Activities
Getting out and about can make a world of difference. We accompany clients on short walks, visits to local cafes or trips to favourite places - supporting both body and mind through gentle activity and a change of scene.
We understand the importance of clear communication and reliability. Families can trust that their loved ones are in safe hands - with companions who respect privacy but also know when to share concerns appropriately.
“Janette has recently started visiting my Nan and she has been a welcome addition to our “care team”. My Nan loves her visits and is very fond of her. Janette is very professional but with a lovely kind and caring approach. I would highly recommend her to anyone needing support in their home.”

Our Approach To Home Care
At Lyme Bay Support we believe everyone deserves to feel connected and supported.
I’ve spent a lifetime in customer facing roles - from Careline Support to helping women rebuild confidence after illness - and as a result I have a wide range of skills in communication and building rapport and trust, as well as practical skills in tech, and more.
I plan to build a team of people with a wide range of skills - a kind of one-stop-shop of support tasks if you like, so that you don’t have to be hunting around for the help you need. More to come on that.
As a believer in life-long learning, I am always building on my training and have an enhanced DBS certificate and full public liability insurance.
Our Ethos
Our ethos and values guide us in everything we do - every interaction, every conversation and every decision
“My son was worried about me following the death of my husband and he found you online. As soon as I opened the door to you, I knew we’d get on, you’re so easy to talk to. I’m loving our chats and trips into town. Thank you”
D, 95
D lives alone and is just about mobile. However she’s not confident enough to go out anymore and therefore spends most of her time at home. Her family visit her regularly and she loves visitors. We visit her three times a week, just for a chat, cuppa (and maybe a chocolate eclair). Her family is happy knowing that she has another person to talk to and that if we have any concerns we highlight them.
Case Studies on Our Home Care
J, 65
J has recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer and is receiving palliative care at home. She lives alone but has a wonderful network of friends who visit. Her dignity and independence are really important to her and she needs help with housework - jobs that she doesn’t feel comfortable asking friends to do - and for extra emotional support. We will be with her for however long she needs us.
F, 82
F lives with her daughter who goes out to work full time. She gets lonely during the day and needs some extra company a couple of times a week. We chat, play games and even go for a gentle stroll sometimes. And because her daughter works full time we do a few chores to ease her burden - a little vacuuming here, washing some bedding there and even prepping dinner ready to pop into the oven when she gets home.

Join Our Team Of Home Carers
At Lyme Bay Support, we believe purpose and connection matter — for everyone.
Our work not only brings friendship and support to our clients, but also provides meaningful opportunities for people with life experience to use their skills, compassion and wisdom in ways that truly make a difference.
We know that after years of gaining experience in life and work, it can sometimes feel as though those abilities go unrecognised. We aim to change that — by creating a community where every person, whether client or companion, is valued, respected and given the chance to thrive.
We’re actively looking for kind, reliable people to join our growing team. If you have life experience, enjoy helping others, and value meaningful work — we’d love to hear from you. Please send an email explaining why you’re interested in the opportunity and don’t forget to attach a CV.

If you or your family member would benefit from companionship and/or help around the home, then do send us a message. We’ll have an initial chat over the phone so that you can tell me all about you/your loved one and so that we can identify the best companion for them. Then we’ll arrange a meeting to make sure that everyone gets on, agree times and dates, complete paperwork and that’s it! Peace of mind at last!
